How to remove SEO errors mentioned in Bing Webmasters?

#1

Hello friends

Some of you must be knowing, I’m blogger at Blogging Easier. Today only I added my blog to Bing Webmaster. Updated my blog’s sitemap there and done some tweaks. But a problem arose when I went to the SEO Analyzer section and performed the analysis for my blog. Following is the result of the analysis:

In the screenshot above you can see the errors detected by Bing Webmaster.

  • The < h1 > tag is missing.
  • There are multiple descriptions on the page.
  • The tag does not have an ALT attribute defined.
  • Evaluated size of HTML is estimated to be over 125 KB and risks not being fully cached.
  • The page is missing meta language information.

What I have thought of doing?

  • Some of the images which I have uploaded don’t have alt tags, I’m gonna add the alt tags to all of them and overcome the problem

  • To reduce the size of the webpage, I’ll convert the images to web quality.

  • I’ll add language meta tag to my template.

What all I don’t know?

  • How to over come the problem of Heading Tag.

  • How to remove duplicated discriptions from my blog.

At last I request all of you to help me with these errors and give me the correct ways to remove them.

Thank you in advance! :smile:

Happy Blogging! :smiley:

You didn’t add meta tag of the language. So, how search engine would detect that in which language you are providing articles to your visitors? You have to paste the following code just below head tag

<meta name="language" content="english">

Can anyone take SEO audit of my blog?

Heading 1 Missing.

add h1 tag to logo in your header, all seo guides say, that logo of the website/blog is the best place to put h1 tag.

   <a href='http://bloggingeasier.blogspot.com/' style='display: block'>
<h1><img alt=' Blogging Easier' id='Header1_headerimg' src='http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VIp6h8VzJwk/VRFjx7mRHnI/AAAAAAAACA0/nsvsER_wDUQ/s1600/3-24-2015%2B6-46-03%2BPM.png' style='display: block'/></h1>
</a>

Duplicate Description

<meta content='Blogger web Portal for finding quality Widgets, Plugins, Templates and SEO Tips. Learn how to start a Blogger Blog from scratch!' name='og:description'/>

<meta content='Blogger web Portal for finding quality Widgets, Plugins, Templates and SEO Tips. Learn how to start a Blogger Blog from scratch!' name='description'/>

The meta description element is for search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing.

Since these are two separate tags that kinda do the same thing but they are designed for different types of platforms, one for Facebook and the other for Search Engines. The reasoning behind this is that the Open Graph protocal is more rich in what content can be feed to Facebook without scrapping the full page, think rich snippets. So images, description and more information is feed to Facebook via the Open Graph.

Using both is a good idea.

@saadwasil

Search the following code in template html section and add h1 tag before starting img tag.

   <div id='header-inner'>
                          <a expr:href='data:blog.homepageUrl' style='display: block'>
                          <img expr:alt='data:title' expr:height='data:height' expr:id='data:widget.instanceId + &quot;_headerimg&quot;' expr:src='data:sourceUrl' expr:width='data:width' style='display: block'/>
                          </a>

Like as i’m showing below.

<div id='header-inner'>
                      <a expr:href='data:blog.homepageUrl' style='display: block'>
                      <h1><img expr:alt='data:title' expr:height='data:height' expr:id='data:widget.instanceId + &quot;_headerimg&quot;' expr:src='data:sourceUrl' expr:width='data:width' style='display: block'/></h1>
                      </a>

If your need further help let me know.
