Google still indexing my www. version of my website

I recently changed my web host and decided to stick with my domain as instead www. so as the results are already displayed on the search results. Still www. results are on the search results and its been more than 2 weeks i did the migration. There are no errors in the webmaster tools either.

Did you try to delete the from webmasters tool.? And stop if you have any redirection.

Sorry if i am wrong in anyway .

Follow the link below, Mattcutts tutorial will teach you about url canonicalization from basic to advanced level

Google takes weeks to update their cache. So it can take upto a month and you need to have pateince till Google indexes your naked domain URLS and starts displaying them on Search results Page.

Note that you don’t need to worry if you have correctly redirected www version of your domain to a non-www version. This is called permanent 301 redirection and can be achived by editing the .htaccess file

The best way doing this is to add the following script inside your .htaccess file which is a standard SEO practice for redirecting the http headers

RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} >^ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$$1 [L,R=301,NC]

Replace with your domain name.

This code will redirect all your search traffic on the new non-www version of your domain name without losing both pagerank juice and traffic. :innocent:
