Add Review Schema in Blogger Templates [Star Ratings]

#1

Hello Everyone,
Yesterday, I come know to about this Site started by MBT. Many famous Blogger Developer ask their problems and share their Tips & Tricks here. So i decided to share my trick. All SEO consults know about the Review Schema. If you search on Google about any Google Play app then Google Shows Review Stars, Rating, Reviewed by, etc. I never seen this feature in Blogger Templates before. But now you can add it to your Blog.

Almost 3-4 days ago, i add review schema in my Blog and Google Start indexing my Posts with Reviews. Because i can’t add images and links, i can’t show you.

So here are some simple codes. Add them just above or below <data:post.body/> Tag.

<div style='height:0px;visibility: hidden;'>
<div itemscope='' itemtype='http://data-vocabulary.org/Review'>
<span itemprop='itemreviewed'><data:post.title/></span><br/>
<span itemprop='reviewer'><data:post.author/></span><br/>
<span itemprop='rating'>5</span> of 5
<div itemprop='description'><data:post.snippet/></div>
</div></div>

Check Webmaster’s Testing Tool for my site and saw result.
I hope this will helps you too. If you have any suggestions then please share with us. This Trick is found by me, Harman Singh Hira so anyone using the above codes without giving proper credit-back link to me or my site would have to face some legal issue. Therefore, do respect the work.

And, please give me the permission to add images andlinks in posts :rage:

Thanks
Harman Singh Hira

Hi @HarmanSinghHira, You will get the permission for adding images and links once you cross certain trust levels. Trust levels ensure that spammers are kept out of this wonderful place. You are not considered as a spammer but not all can be trusted easily. Engage in the discussion and naturally you will unlock trust levels. I think once you get images permission to post images, it will simply understanding what you are trying to convey to us. By the way, Congrats if you are able to see the results. :smiley:

Hi @HarmanSinghHira thank you for posting such a useful help guide and it will surely help those who publish reviews on their blog. The schema microdata tags can surely be inserted on any blogger site and we have been discussing this several times on this forum too

But it is great that you shared the direct XML codes for displaying star ratings on search results. Thank you for that.

PS: You can surely upload images once you spend some time on the forum as @Rohan suggested. At this time you can use the following code to paste images on the forum

<img src="Your Image link" alt="Image Description/>

You can upload your image on blogger and then paste its link here. Once you become a habitual to forum, your image Upload option will be automatically activated

Yes, try to put this code somewhere on your template:

<div class='star-ratings' style='float:right;'>
<b:if cond='data:top.showStars'>
<div expr:g:background-color='data:backgroundColor' expr:g:text-color='data:textColor' expr:g:url='data:post.absoluteUrl' g:height='42' g:type='RatingPanel' g:width='180'/>
</b:if> </div>

I don’t know if it still work :confused:. And this article is from 7 years ago :smile:

Hello @Mad, This feature no longer exist…

#8

@Mustafa Bro I want to ask that these reviews my effect SEO or not?

#9

Since this code is manipulating the review, maybe yes.

But, it’s not recommended to add this on blog. :confused: . Cuz, this review scheme is only for product based company, not for blog with no product at all :confused:

If you are not experienced I would beg you to think twice before playing around with this. Most inexperienced (and even some experienced) people end up causing themselves more harm then good when taking these shortcuts. seroundtable.
